- Contrary to popular belief, the storage tanks in which the cord blood and tissue units are stored are not electricity-dependent. Instead, the cryogenic tanks run on liquid nitrogen. The processed cord blood and tissue units are stored in the vapour phase of liquid nitrogen. Next Biosciences maintains a substantial supply of liquid nitrogen, with a two-week contingency reserve to replenish our storage tanks. Our tanks undergo continuous monitoring, supported by an advanced 24/7 laboratory facility monitoring system.
- In contrast, our monitoring system and processing equipment require electricity. It is for this reason that we have uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) and two backup generators to mitigate the impact of power outages.
- Ensuring traceability is fundamental to our quality management system. Each client and sample is assigned a unique barcode and number, facilitating individualised tracking throughout the storage and processing journey.
- As a private bank dedicated to serving your family exclusively, we do not conduct routine HLA typing on the cells, thus guaranteeing that your sample remains reserved solely for your family's potential use.
- Next Biosciences ensures that it apportions upfront storage fees to ensure the ongoing storage of the stem cells.
- In the unlikely event of any unforeseen circumstances affecting Next Biosciences, our sister company, Smart Cells International, based in the United Kingdom, will assume storage responsibilities.
